Fronteers 2011 workshops

In the two days before the conference we hosted two workshops.

Real World Accessibility for HTML5, CSS and ARIA by Derek Featherstone, October 4th

You’ve heard of HTML5, CSS3 and ARIA. You may even be using them already. But are you doing it in a way that ensures that you’re keeping up with your accessibility standards? You need to know what these technologies can do for you, how to use them accessibly AND how reliable they are. Reading about these tools isn’t going to cut it. You need to know the nitty-gritty, get your hands dirty, practical side of accessibility for all of these technologies. More information.

CSS3: Not just for designers by Lea Verou, October 5th

CSS3, in essence, is about creating web applications that download faster and are easier to develop, maintain and edit. Less HTTP requests, less Kilobytes to download, less presentational JavaScript. All those are mostly developer goals, rather than designer goals. And that's why developers should care about CSS3, perhaps even more than designers do. More information.
