Job position: front-end developer at Elasticsearch (Amsterdam)

Elasticsearch, one of the hottest startups in open source, is looking to expand its stellar marketing team with a front-end developer who will be responsible for improving and maintaining our new web properties – elasticsearch.com and elasticsearch.org.
With well over 250,000 downloads per month and over 3M downloads cumulatively, Elasticsearch offers an opportunity for talented people to develop and deepen their skills within a fast-growth start-up environment. Our websites play a key role in the success of our business, providing the primary interaction with our developer community, as well as driving the majority of our lead generation.
What we are looking for:
A primary owner and advocate of our website activities. Someone who loves coming up with new ideas and implementing them quickly.
Requirements:
- A WordPress expert
- Experience with technologies like HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript.
- An A-player with a impressive track record and portfolio to back this up
- Someone who will own the development of our two websites from inception through completion.
What you’ll be doing:
- Rapid-prototyping of our two websites (http://www.elasticsearch.com/ and http://www.elasticsearch.org/) on WordPress
- Build launch and landing pages to support marketing campaigns
- Implement visual designs using clean, reusable templates and stylesheets
- Architect front-end for usability and scale
- Continually refine and optimize web pages
- Collaborate with UI/UX/Graphics designer to turn their designs into great user experiences
What you bring to the table:
- Experience creating great web-based user experiences
- Advanced HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and WordPress skills
- Rapid prototyping and wireframing
- Web standards and performance tuning
- Experience with responsive design and mobile
- Experience with integrating Marketo or other marketing automation software a plus
