Wat je daadwerkelijk zal doen
- Codeer een PHP-gebaseerde website bovenop het Supersteil Framework.
- Verbind databases met de front-end doormiddel van geordende PHP.
- Schrijf en optimaliseer cross-browser CSS & JS voor een maximale user experience.
- Optimaliseer bestaande projecten door verbeteringen door te voeren.
- Communiceer met zowel het interne team als nieuwe klanten over opties en mogelijkheden.
- Discussieer over nieuwe projecten met de art directors en developers.
- Onderzoek en deel jouw gedachten betreffende nieuwe technische mogelijkheden.
Wat je van je verwachten
- Je skills en interesses zijn niet gekaderd tot alleen PHP, CSS en JS maar reiken ver daarbuiten.
- Je weet waar de prioriteiten liggen binnen het development team en bent bewust van de aankomende projecten.
- Je hebt goede communicatie skills en houdt ervan om anderen in je omgeving aan te moedigen. Tevens ben je in staat om hen te informeren over je verkregen inzichten en onderzoeksresultaten.
- Je vinkt geen to-do af totdat alle pixels perfect gepositioneerd zijn en alle animaties onwijs vloeiend lopen.
- Je bent in staat om de designers, klanten en andere stakeholders uit te dagen met je creatieve ideeën om tot het beste resultaat te komen.
Waar je aan zult werken
We hebben het voorrecht om te werken aan creatieve projecten voor een selectie van top klanten als Pathé, Coca-Cola, 538, Coolblue en Sitecom. Onze diensten zijn breed, zoals het aanbieden van concept, UX & GUI design, front-end development voor diverse devices en back-end ontwikkeling & connecties. Je zal jouw deel van een projecten vervullen als deel van ons team, om de best haalbare resultaten te creëren.
Hoe een dag in de studio eruit zou kunnen zien
Je arriveert in de studio; zet de muziek aan en maakt een sterke espresso of cappuccino. Je gaat naar je eigen bureau en checkt je kalender & email. Nu is het tijd om je voor te bereiden op de interne vergadering, checkt je favoriete blogs en maakt enkele aantekeningen in je Moleskine.
Nog tijd over voordat de andere leden van de vergadering klaar zijn? Waarom niet wat PHP optimaliseren van het project waar je al aan werkt?
De meeting gaat bijna beginnen. Dus je gaat naar de ‘woonkamer’. Tijdens de meeting informeer je het team over jouw deel van het project en discussieer je eventuele mogelijkheden. Je noteert waarschijnlijk nog meer ideeën in je Moleskine.
Na een gezellig lunch met de andere Supersteilers, ga je weer aan het werk. Een kleine live-prio komt tussendoor en je de-bugt & optimaliseert enkele CSS- & JS-bestanden waarna je ze tevens weer her-upload naar de server.
Nu is het tijd om wat onderzoek te doen naar de resultaten van de voorafgaande meeting; je verzamelt je notities en schrijft een A4-paper over je bevindingen en conclusies. Je zorgt er hierbij tevens voor dat het niet té technisch is zodat alle leden van de meeting je punten zullen begrijpen. Wanneer dit is afgerond, mail je het rond.
Je praat over technische problemen en mogelijkheden met de developers in de studio. Je wisselt enkele ideeën met elkaar. Het is vrijdag en als het bijna 5 uur is, weet je dat het tijd is voor een hapje en een lekker koud biertje.

Vereiste ervaring en vaardigheden
- Gevorderde PHP ervaring en skills, zowel in het van “scratch af aan” schrijven als het werken met een MVC framework.
- Kennis over de MVC-structuur.
- OOP
- MySQL / NoSQL DB ervaring
- HTML5 ervaring
- CSS3 ervaring
- JS en jQuery ervaring
- Gevoel en inzicht in UX, begrip van de impact vanuit development.
- Codeer niet binnen én voor grenzen maar onderzoek deze juist
- Ontdek en onderzoek nieuwe technieken en mogelijkheden
- Communicatie skills om te werken in een kleine, getalenteerde en gedreven studio
- In staat zijn om andere te enthousiasmeren met je ideeën
- In staat zijn om zowel de studio als klanten te informeren - in een niet technische manier - over resultaten en mogelijkheden
- Schrijven van een paper over je conceptuele onderzoek betreffende een nieuwe project
Het zou fijn zijn als je bekend bent met

What you will really be doing
- Coding a PHP based website on top of the Supersteil Framework.
- Connecting databases with the front-end through clean PHP.
- Writing and optimizing cross-browser CSS & JS for a maximum user experience.
- Optimizing existing projects and making them even better.
- Communicate with both the internal team as new clients about options and opportunities.

What we require from you

- You do not mark a to-do list as completed until every pixel is perfect and every transition is insanely smooth.
- You are able to challenge designers, clients and other stakeholders with creative ideas to get the best results.
What you will be working on
We have the privilege to work on creative projects for a number of top notch clients like Pathé, Coca-Cola, 538, Coolblue and Sitecom. We have a broad scope, as we offer concepts, UX and GUI designs, front-end for several devices and back-end connections. You will fulfil your part of the projects as part of our team, trying to create the best attainable results.
What a day at the office might look like
You’re at the studio. You turn on the music and make yourself a strong espresso. You get to your office space, check your calendar and email. Now is the time to prepare for the internal meeting, check out your favorite blogs and take notes in your Moleskin. Still time left before the others are ready? Why not optimize some PHP of a current project?
Meeting is about to get started. So you get to the living room. During the meeting you inform the team about your part of the project and discuss work related possibilities. You probably jot down more ideas into your Moleskin.
After having a good laugh with other Supersteilers at the lunch. You get back to work. A small live- prio comes up and you debug and optimize CSS & JS and reupload it to the server.
Now is the time to do some research about the prior meeting; you collect your notes and write a single-page paper about your findings. You make sure it’s not too technical so all the participants of the meeting will understand your points. When done, you email it out.
You talk about technical issues and possibilities with the developers at the studio. You exchange ideas.
It’s Friday so when the clock nears 5 PM you know it’s time for some snacks and a cold beer.

Required experience and skills
- Great PHP experience, from both scratch as on top of an MVC framework - Knowledge about the MVC-structure
- OOP
- MySQL / NoSQL DB experience

- Feeling for UX and insight of its impact from development
- Not coding within the box but researching it instead
- Discovering and researching new techniques and possibilities
- Communication skills to work within a small, great and well driven studio
- Able to enthusiasm others with your ideas
- Able to inform both studio and client - in a non-technical way - about results and possibilities - Write a paper about your conceptual research for a new project
It’s also good to be familiar with these
