Job position: Front-end Developer at Coosto (Eindhoven)
Are you an experienced Front-end Developer, passionate about Big Data, Data Visualization and User Interaction? Then this might be the job for you!
We are continuously looking for ways to improve our product by prototyping new features and turning customers’ wishes into great products. On the one hand we have a gigantic database with messages and metadata of all the major social media network sites, and on the other hand we have more than 700+ clients who want to make use of this data. For our customers to put this data to use, these data-sets need to be visualized. For this visualization and for the interface of our tool, we are looking for a Front-end Developer to join the Data Science team, which makes the algorithms to enrich and visualize the data in our database. Beside this, you will also work for the team that gathers all the data from the social media platforms: the Data Division team. In this team you will maintain and develop user friendly web interfaces, used by different sections of Coosto for administration, development, troubleshooting and analysis.
What we expect of you
You are an experienced Front-end Developer with the skills to unlock and present data into visualizations in a state-of-the-art manner. You have an affinity with Data Science and know the principles behind Data Analysis and Classification. Building sleek, intuitive and enjoyable user interfaces is what you do, and you have attention for detail and usability. Also, you are continuously improving yourself by being critical of your own work and staying well-informed about the latest techniques and updates in the world of Front-end development. Furthermore, you have:
- Expertise in JavaScript, CSS and HTML
- Solid knowledge of OOP and Design Patterns
- Experience with Data Visualization
- Basic knowledge of PHP and MySQL
And it is a plus if you have:
- Knowledge of JavaScript visualization libraries such as Vue.js, D3.js and High Charts
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, RequireJS, jQuery and Underscore
- Knowledge of MVC frameworks such as Kohana and Laravel
- Knowledge of Cassandra and ElasticSearch
- Experience with working on the Linux Commandline
- Experience with version tools like GIT
