What is Spindle?

Spindle is a purpose-driven enterprise connecting the world using free (as in freedom) communication.

We adhere to an agile way of building software. We tweak the process we use to build software as much as the software itself. Call it meta-agile. Seriously though, you should be comfortable in a constantly changing environment.

We work with Holacracy. We are a purpose driven organization where authority is distributed to roles instead of people. We choose not to have managers because we believe that all colleagues use their expertise to make the right decisions regarding their roles and contribute equally to the direction of the product as well as the organization.

We strive for quality over quantity. We share our expertise between developers by reviewing all code before it is deployed. We have two products that bring us a lot of pride and joy: VoIPGRID and Lily.

We are committed to open source software. We share our own software where possible. Actively contributing to open source projects is regarded as part of the job. Because we are proud of what we do, we like to share our knowledge in blog posts and at meetups and conferences.

What we offer:

We offer you the opportunity to work on software that strives to make sure that communication is always yours and yours alone. We also offer:

  • A relaxed and welcoming culture with celebrations, events, hackathons and trips
  • A competitive salary
  • A good pension insurance
  • An annual study budget and study days
  • Two weeks leave for new parents
  • An hour of lunch time in which we enjoy a delicious catered lunch
  • A Spindle company bike
  • A sports and wellness subscription
