Fronteers Spring Conference ticket sales to start February 12

Posted on February 3, 2016

Are you available this April Fools' Day? Come and join us in Amsterdam for the first-ever Fronteers Spring Conference. It's a new, single-day front-end conference scheduled for Friday, April 1. The event will take place on Amsterdam's waterfront at the city's beautiful film museum, EYE.

We've gathered bright minds from around the globe to provide you with thought-provoking talks and insights. If you love our autumnal sibling Fronteers Conference, we think you're going to love Spring Conference, too.

Theme: Web Performance

The overarching theme for our 2016 Spring Conference is Web Performance. We'll cover web perf in-depth, and from a variety of perspectives. The day will consist of multiple sets of three 20 minute talks, delivered back-to-back(-to-back), followed by an MC-led panel discussion for each set.

Speakers & MC

We're very proud that two-time Fronteers Conference alum, tall person and all-around front-end development expert Phil Hawksworth has agreed to be our Master of Ceremonies for the day. Phil will be telling you where the exits are, as well as conducting panel discussions with our speakers.

Some of the Web's best and brightest will come to Amsterdam to think, talk and discuss Web Perf topics. We're delighted to announce the first set of speakers:

  • Tobias Baldauf
  • Marcy Sutton
  • Karl Groves
  • Tobias Ahlin
  • Paul Bakaus
  • Bram Stein
  • Yan Zhu
  • Estelle Weyl

Find out more about our growing speaker list, the speakers and their talks at the Fronteers Spring Conference speaker page.

Venue: EYE

Fronteers Spring Conference 2016 will be held at EYE, the Netherlands' film museum, in its mighty Cinema 1 theatre. EYE is located on the waterfront, across Amsterdam's Central Station, in a spectacular building.

Code of conduct

The Fronteers community is a wonderful, weird, diverse and intelligent group of people from all walks of life. We're proud of this and we actively want to contribute to an open, comfortable and safe environment for everyone. That means, amongst other things, that we adopt and exercise a Code of Conduct for Fronteers Conference events. We will be clearly recognizable and approachable during and around the conference, and we will operate an information and help line for all our attendees and speakers. Purchasing a ticket and attending the conference means you agree to adhere to the code and to join our community in an open and respectful way.

Tickets

We've got room for just under 300 attendees, and we'll be selling tickets in two batches. The first batch is available to Fronteers members only, and opens Friday, February 12, at 12:00 CET. The second batch goes on sale two short weeks later, on Friday, February 26, at 12:00 CET, and is open to everyone!

Tickets will cost €99 + VAT for Fronteers association members, and €199 + VAT for non-members. If you are a member of the trade association Fronteers at the time this newsletter is sent out, you are eligible for the reduced ticket price.

In short: Time for more Fronteers, more talks, more interesting views and more front-end fun. April 1 is right around the corner so grab a ticket next week and see you at the EYE in two short months!
